Avocado is a pear-like fruit and it is native to Central and South America. This fruit is rich in vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, which are essential for your health. Although we all know what it looks like, many of us do not know how to prepare the avocado and add it to a meal.
When you are buying avocado you need to make sure that the avocado is soft. Mature fruit is easier to prepare and most importantly it is fully utilized.
How to cut an avocado?
Wash the fruit nicely. Then place it on a cloth to prevent slipping. With one hand firmly hold the upper part of the avocado, and with your other hand take a knife and cut the avocado starting on the narrower side. Now hold the avocado with both hands. Then twist your hands in opposite directions and the avocado will separate.
How to remove the seed?
Take a teaspoon and push it between the fruit and the avocado seed and then slightly dig up the seed.
How to peel avocado?
First you need to cut the avocado into slices. Then growl one end so that the peel can be removed from the meat. More mature avocados are easier to peel and for peeling them you will not need a knife. The rest of the crust (the darker and green part), you can simply cut off, because for the meals you will be using only the yellow part of the avocado.
How to prepare an avocado?
You can eat it raw, cut into slices. However, for better taste you can add a little lemon juice or aceto balsamico. You can prepare it as a spread or a sauce. Also you can slice the avocado and serve it along with salads or sandwiches.
This fruit is a very healthy side dish to any meal, and it only takes a little imagination to make it a perfect fit in every meal.
